Hexagram

Alternative Term:

A hexagram refers to a six-line symbol or diagram known as a “Gua” (卦). Hexagrams are a fundamental element of various ancient Chinese divination systems, most notably the I Ching, also known as the Book of Changes. Each hexagram is composed of two trigrams (three-line symbols), and together they represent different states and processes of change. The same Chinese character (卦) is used for both hexagrams and trigrams.
