Luo Pan

Alternative Term:
Feng Shui Compass, 罗盘

The Luo Pan (罗盘) is a Chinese Feng Shui compass used by Feng Shui practitioners to determine the most auspicious direction for a structure, place, or object based on the surrounding landforms, buildings, and the Bazi of the occupants. The Luo Pan consists of a magnetic needle mounted on a round plate, which is divided into 24 directions corresponding to the 24 seasonal solar terms in the Chinese lunar calendar. In addition to the cardinal directions of North, South, East, and West, the Luo Pan also has concentric rings of information that represent different Feng Shui concepts such as the Five Elements, the Bagua, and the 24 Mountains. This tool is essential in traditional Chinese Feng Shui for aligning spaces with cosmic and earthly energies to enhance harmony and prosperity.
